Mandolyn became a Cooke Transfer Scholar in 2013, and she pursued interdisciplinary studies in Education, Public Policy, and Poverty and Inequality at UC Berkeley. She went on to study at Oxford University as a Graduate Scholar, where she earned her master's degree in Comparative and International Education. Prior to becoming a Cooke Scholar, Mandolyn had a successful music career as hip-hop artist Mystic, where she was nominated for GRAMMY and BET Awards, and was well known for her collaborations with Shock G and Digital Underground.
